The Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC) conducted its intensive five-
day Student Induction Programme, ‘Deeksharambh 2026,’ for the incoming Batch of 2026-
28. The programme was held from June 16 to 20, 2026, at the Lavale Hill Top Campus,
Symbiosis International (Deemed University)

Deeksharambh 2026 commenced with Day 1's Orientation Programme, where students and
their parents were formally welcomed and addressed by senior leadership, including the
Director Professor Ruchi Kher Jaggi, Deputy Director Dr. Sushobhan Patankar, and Head of
the Symbiosis Center for Emotional Well-Being Dr. Girija Mahale, along with introductions
to faculty members, administrative staff, and studio staff.

Day 2 focused on team-building and peer bonding among the new cohort structured through
a day full of Outbound Activity at the Multipurpose Ground of the Symbiosis International
(Deemed) University.

Day 3 focused on Course Introduction, where Programme Heads of the MBA, MA
(Journalism & Media Industries), and MA (Film, Television & Digital Production) courses
briefed students on their respective curricula, followed by Self-Discovery Assessments
conducted by the Center for Emotional Well-Being.

Days 4 and 5 brought in the Alumni Industry Spotlight sessions, where accomplished SIMC
alumni working across media, communications, sports broadcasting, and corporate sectors
shared industry insights and career journeys, followed by interactive Q&A sessions with
students.
