| Milestones & Achievements |
The growth is not merely in space & size, but also in magnitude. The student community has mushroomed into a 724 member strong resource comprising of UG & PG course at Pune & Bangalore – a multicultural student culture representing diverse ethnicities across India, the Middle East & Europe.
- Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) in its recent Global Meet in Bangalore has awarded SIMC for the Leadership Role in PR Education in South Asia, their prestigious Chanakya Award.
- Eventfaqs had SIMC Footprints 2008 as the ONLY nominated Knowledge Property by an educational institute among all the entries they had.
- On the 6th of February 2009, SIMC also received recognition as a ‘B-School with Industry Related Curriculum in Advertising’. This honour was conferred at the ‘Impact- Outstanding B-Schools in Marketing Awards’ held in Mumbai in consideration of the outstanding contribution.
- Outlook has voted SIMC as a joint 4th best media school along with MICA, above Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) and after IIMC, XIC and Jamia Millia Islamia.

- National Cyber Media Conclave
The National Cyber Media Conclave or NCMC is an attempt to better understand the growing cyber media industry. NCMC 2009 saw eminent personalities such as Kiruba Shankar, co-founder, The Knowledge Foundation, CEO of Business Blogging Pvt. Ltd and Founder-Director of F5ive Technologies; Jasmeen Bhateja, Founder, The Blank Noise Project; Shivam Vij, Blogger & Tehelka Journalist, Delhi; and Shiv Bhaskar, CEO, The Viewspaper.
- South Asian Youth Peace Meet (SAYPM)
SAYPM was conducted for the first time in 2009, to promote cordial relations among the youth of the South Asian nations. The distinguished panelist included experts such as Dr. Kiran Bedi, Actor Imran Khan, Asgar Ali Engineer, the chairman of Center for Study of Society and Secularism, Mr Vijay Pamarthi of the Jaago Re campaign fame and many more.
- Footprints
Footprints is a series of media seminars conducted by the junior media trainees, across the length and breadth of this country, across 23 cities and internationally in Dubai and Mauritius.
- National Radio Meet
Second Year since inception, NRM 2009 aimed to focus on a gamut of issues ranging from the involvement of the radio in developmental communication to the branding and re-branding strategies radio stations are employing to garner as much listenership as possible. Mr. Vernon Ibrahim, VP Programming, Radio One, Mr. S.M. Shiaful Islam, Bangladesh Centre for Developmental Journalism & Communication, Mr. Ashmat Mulla, Founder, Radio FTII and Mr. Mukesh Sharma, Director of AIR were the eminent panelists of the day.
