Director's Message

Welcome to Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC) at Lavale, Pune.

Today SIMC is the largest institute of its kind in India in terms of PG student intake, across four full-time (2 year) residential programs with distinctly different specialisations and yet, delivering an unique and complementary blend of Media, Communications and Management theories coupled with practice! And, SIMC is also the oldest post-graduate institute offering integrated Media and Communications based programs.

Our vision for the future spans greater recognition as an institute with proven academic standards, higher industry interactions and ongoing collaboration with other academic institutes also focusing on the Media and Communications fields.

As winds of change blows through the portals of SIMC at Lavale, Pune, we are working towards making SIMC a stronger institution in terms of learning approaches and delivery resulting in better placements. We ensure that our curriculum remains contemporary through our Industry interfaces based on concerted efforts of our faculty members, staff, student groups and other stakeholders.

With exceptional resources and infrastructure, (perhaps superior to any other comparable Institutes in the country), and pedagogy that combines the disciplines of Communications, Media and Management into distinct and integrated programs, and a faculty team that combines industry and academic expertise – SIMC is gearing towards generating Research outputs and publications as well as creative outputs.

We are also laying greater emphasis on Training & Capability Enhancement Programs (for industry and academia) in the field of Media and Communications, leveraging our excellent infrastructure, in-house capabilities and also the unique strengths of our industry network and alumni fraternity.
